Short and handy Okta Workflows tips and tricks. Read the full series.

With RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), connections aren’t automatically available in a top-level folder. You need to explicitly add them before the flows in that folder can use them.

Add a connection to a folder with RBAC

When you first open a folder with RBAC, the Connections tab is empty:

With RBAC for folders, connections must be explicitly added to a folder so flows in that folder can use them. Here is how to do it:

  1. Open the folder, go to the Connections tab, and click Add Existing.
  2. Select a connection from the list and click Save. It will now be available to all flows in that folder. You can also create a new connection from here.

Any subfolders within the Project 001 folder will automatically inherit connections from it. Note that Subfolder 002 doesn’t have the option to set a connection since it inherits it from its top-level folder.
